PETER KUMMERFELDT
BIOGRAPHIC BRIEF
Peter Kummerfeldt
is the owner of, and chief instructor for OutdoorSafe Inc an organization
that conducts outdoor safety skills seminars, survival training programs,
disaster preparation and travel safety seminars throughout the United
States. Peter grew up in Kenya, East Africa and came to America in 1965
where he joined the Air Force. He is a graduate of the Air Force Survival
Instructor Training School and has served as an instructor at the Basic
Survival School, Spokane Washington, the Arctic Survival School, Fairbanks,
Alaska, and the Jungle Survival School, Republic of the Philippines. He
also served for twelve years as the Survival Training Director at the
United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He retired
from the Air Force in 1995 after 30 years of service. In 1992, concerned
with the number of accidents that were occurring in the outdoors each
year and the number of tourist traveling overseas who were involved in
unpleasant and sometimes life-threatening incidents he created OutdoorSafe.
He has since addressed over 20,000 people as the featured speaker at numerous
seminars, conferences and national conventions. His efforts have reduced
the number of people becoming injured, ill or dying in the outdoors each
year and have heightened travelers safety awareness to the point
that his clients have returned unscathed from many trips abroad.

Peter is the author of a practical survival book titled Surviving
a Wilderness Emergency and over thirty other articles on surviving
in the outdoors. He has been featured in many magazines to include Field
and Stream, Popular Mechanics, American Rifleman, Trail Blazer and Boys
Life.
He has also been featured
on numerous television shows to include: Discovery Health, Roving with
the Practical Outdoorsman, The Outdoor Edge, The Outdoor Guides, The Pacific
Northwest Sportsmens Show, Good Morning Central Oregon, Expedition
Safari and Oklahoma Outdoors.

Today he is renowned
for his informative programs, his highly developed speaking skills and
his ability to work with federal, state and local government agencies,

in receiving quality safety training. Peter is currently on the faculty
of Emergency Response International and the Safari Club International
Foundation, American Wilderness Leadership School.
Peter and his wife Mary live in Colorado Springs, Colorado
